Standing side by side in the Kerikeri Basin, The Stone Store and Kemp House are among New Zealand’s most treasured heritage sites. The Stone Store, built in 1832–1836, is the country’s oldest surviving stone building and once served as a storehouse for the Church Missionary Society. Beside it, Kemp House is the oldest surviving European house in New Zealand, offering a rare glimpse into early missionary life. Together they form a beautifully preserved pair overlooking the water and are well worth a leisurely visit.
